Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Realtime Users GA4 ("the app", "we", "us") is a mobile application available on iOS and Android. The app is operated independently and is not affiliated with Google LLC.

2. What data we access

When you sign in with your Google account, the app requests read-only access to your Google Analytics 4 data using the following OAuth scope:

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonly — read-only access to your GA4 properties

This access is used solely to display real-time active user data from your own GA4 properties within the app.

3. What data we do NOT collect

We do not collect, transmit, store, or share:

• Your Google Analytics data
• Your Google account information beyond what is displayed in the app
• Any personally identifiable information about your website visitors
• Your usage behavior tied to your identity — we only collect anonymous, aggregate app analytics (see Section 6)
• Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to our servers

4. Data stored on your device

The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Your OAuth access token (encrypted, used to authenticate API requests)
• Your selected GA4 property
• App preferences (theme, layout, font, refresh interval)
• A daily request counter (used for informational display only)

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

5. Google API services and user data

The app uses Google Sign-In and the Google Analytics Data API. Your use of these services is subject to Google's Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.

The app's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or ML models.

5.1 Data Accessed

The app accesses the following Google user data:

• Google account identity — your name and email address, used solely to identify you within the app and display your account information.
• Google Analytics 4 real-time data — accessed via the analytics.readonly OAuth scope. Specifically, the app calls the runRealtimeReport endpoint to retrieve the number of active users and per-minute user counts for your own GA4 properties.

5.2 Data Usage

Google user data is used exclusively to provide the core functionality of the app:

• Your Google account identity is used to authenticate API requests and display your name in the app.
• Your GA4 real-time data is fetched and displayed on screen as a live dashboard. It is never processed for any other purpose.
• We do not use your Google data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond displaying it to you within the app.

5.3 Data Sharing

We do not share your Google user data with any third parties. Specifically:

• Your Google Analytics data is never transmitted to our servers.
• Your Google account information is never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
• Your GA4 data and Google account identity are never shared with any analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Separately, the app sends anonymous, non-identifying usage analytics for product improvement purposes — see Section 6. This anonymous analytics stream never includes your GA4 data, name, or email address.

5.4 Data Storage and Protection

We do not store your Google user data on any servers. All data handling occurs exclusively on your device:

• Your OAuth access token is stored locally on your device in encrypted secure storage and is used only to authenticate API requests to Google.
• Real-time analytics data fetched from Google is displayed in the app and immediately discarded — it is never written to disk or transmitted elsewhere.
• Your Google account name and email are stored locally on your device only for display purposes and are never transmitted to our servers.

5.5 Data Retention and Deletion

Since we do not store any Google user data on our servers, there is no data to retain or delete on our end. All data stored on your device can be deleted at any time by:

• Signing out — using the "Sign out" button in the app settings, which clears your OAuth token and account information from the device.
• Uninstalling the app — removes all locally stored data including tokens and preferences.
• Revoking access — visiting myaccount.google.com/permissions and removing "Realtime Users for GA4" revokes the app's OAuth access immediately.

6. Analytics

We use limited, non-identifying analytics to understand how the app and this website are used, so we can improve them over time. None of this analytics data is linked to your GA4 data, name, or email address.

6.1 In the app

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage data: which screens are viewed, whether sign-in succeeds, which GA4 property ID is selected (never the property's name), and whether a purchase completes. No user identifier (such as your name or email) is ever attached to this data.

6.2 On this website

This website uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand visits and improve the site. These services may set cookies or use similar technologies in your browser. This is entirely separate from the app and from your Google Analytics data.

7. In-app purchases

The app offers a one-time premium purchase, processed through RevenueCat, a subscription management platform, which relays the transaction to Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). RevenueCat receives an anonymous purchase identifier and receipt data to activate your premium access. Your payment details (card number, billing address, etc.) are handled entirely by Apple or Google — we and RevenueCat never receive or store them.

8. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
